Refused Elsewhere

Been turned down?
That was one lender, not all of them.

Most dealership declines are a single panel saying no. There is a whole tier of lenders behind that, and a decline in one place tells you very little about the next.

How it works

01

Submit your enquiry

Fill in the short form below. Takes under 2 minutes and there's no credit check at this stage.

02

We make the introduction

We pass your details to lenders who consider situations like yours — including some that do not deal with the public directly.

03

They come back to you

Any offers come to you from the provider direct. You decide whether to take one, and you can walk away — there is no obligation.

04

On the road

You complete the paperwork with the provider direct. Most people are driving within days of approval.

Why choose us

A decline is information, not a verdict

🔍

A broad panel

We work with a broad panel of lenders rather than a single provider, so your details reach the ones most likely to consider you.

📋

Stop applying blind

Every failed application marks your file and makes the next one harder. We soft search first, so the only applications made are the ones with a realistic chance.

Fast decisions

Most enquiries get a response within 2 hours. No waiting days to find out if you qualify.

🛡️

No hard credit check

Your initial enquiry uses a soft search only. Your credit score won't be affected until you say yes.

Common Questions

After a decline, answered

Affordability is only part of it. Declines commonly come down to thin credit history, address instability, not being on the electoral roll, recent applications, or simply that the dealer's one or two lenders do not cover your profile. Affordability rarely fails on its own.
The decline itself is not recorded, but the hard search is, and it stays visible for around twelve months. Several searches close together is what does the damage — it reads as pressure to borrow, and lenders price that in.
If nothing has changed, waiting three to six months lets recent searches age. But if the issue was the lender rather than you — which is common with a dealership panel — there is no reason to wait, provided the next application goes somewhere realistic.
Not directly — the lender is not obliged to give a reason, and often will not. What you can do is get your file from a credit reference agency and check it. We will go through it with you and be honest about what is likely to be causing the problem.
Only if the next application goes to a lender who actually covers your situation. Reapplying to a similar lender days later usually produces the same answer plus another footprint. That is the mistake this page exists to prevent.
