CCJ Car Finance

Got a CCJ?
It is not an automatic no.

A county court judgment narrows your options — it does not remove them. Plenty of lenders look at how old it is and whether it is settled, not just that it exists.

We make the introduction

We pass your details to lenders who consider situations like yours — including some that do not deal with the public directly.

03

They come back to you

Any offers come to you from the provider direct. You decide whether to take one, and you can walk away — there is no obligation.

You complete the paperwork with the provider direct. Most people are driving within days of approval.

Why choose us

Lenders who read the detail, not just the flag

🔍

A broad panel

We work with a broad panel of lenders rather than a single provider, so your details reach the ones most likely to consider you.

📋

The age matters more than the amount

A satisfied CCJ from four years ago is treated very differently to an unsatisfied one from last month. We know which lenders draw that line where.

Fast decisions

Most enquiries get a response within 2 hours. No waiting days to find out if you qualify.

🛡️

No hard credit check

Your initial enquiry uses a soft search only. Your credit score won't be affected until you say yes.

Common Questions

CCJs and car finance, answered

A CCJ stays on the public register and your credit file for six years from the judgment date, whether or not you pay it. Its effect fades considerably over that time — most lenders weight anything in the last twelve months heavily, and something from year four or five much less so.
Yes. Once paid in full it is marked as satisfied, and if you pay within a month of judgment it can be removed entirely. Satisfied CCJs are viewed far more favourably, so if you are close to clearing it, doing so before applying is usually worth the wait.
It is harder, but not impossible. Lenders will want to see that your current income comfortably covers the payments, and a deposit helps considerably. Expect a narrower choice of lenders and a higher rate than someone with a satisfied judgment.
Not automatically, though it does tighten things. What lenders look for is a pattern versus a bad period — several judgments from one difficult year with nothing since reads very differently to a steady trickle of them.
No, and this is where people damage their chances. Each full application leaves a hard footprint, and several in a short window looks like distress borrowing. Our initial enquiry is a soft search, so nothing touches your file until we know who is realistically likely to accept you.
