PCO Insurance (Bad Credit)

Bad credit doesn't stop cover.
It can affect how you pay for it.

Credit history has less bearing on whether an insurer will cover you than most drivers assume — its biggest impact is on whether you can pay monthly. We'll walk you through both routes honestly.

Simple Process

How it works

01

Tell us about the risk

Your details, the vehicle, how it is used and anything on your licence. Accuracy here matters more than anywhere else.

02

We approach the market

We put your details to insurers and schemes that cover your circumstances, including specialist markets you cannot reach direct.

03

Quotes come back to you

You see the cover, the excess and the price. You decide — there is no obligation to take any of them.

04

Cover starts

Once you choose, the insurer sets your policy up and the documents come from them direct.

Why choose us

The distinction that actually matters

🔍

Specialist markets

Convictions, claims, non-standard use and unusual vehicles — the schemes that cover these rarely appear on comparison sites.

📋

Declared properly

Non-disclosure is what voids policies. We make sure everything is on the record, so a claim cannot be refused for something you forgot to mention.

Quick turnaround

Most enquiries get a response within two hours, so you are not left off the road waiting.

🛡️

Cover that actually fits

The cheapest premium is worthless if the cover is wrong for how you use the vehicle. We check that first.

Common Questions

PCO insurance with bad credit, answered

Rarely on its own. Insurers assess risk mainly on driving history, the vehicle, and how it's used for private hire — credit history has far less bearing on whether they'll cover you than it does on car finance.
Mainly around paying monthly. Instalment plans are a credit agreement in their own right and get credit-checked separately from the insurance decision — a poor file can mean a higher deposit or being declined for monthly payments specifically, even when annual cover is available.
Some specialist schemes offer monthly options with more flexible credit criteria than mainstream instalment providers, or you can look at a smaller upfront deposit. Tell us your situation and we'll point you at insurers realistic for it.
Not directly — they're assessed by different criteria and often by entirely different underwriters. A finance decline doesn't automatically mean an insurance decline.
It narrows the market somewhat, since both factors add caution for an insurer, but it isn't a dead end. Specialist PCO schemes exist precisely for drivers who don't fit the mainstream mould.
